Today’s review is approximate VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash. India’s leading make-up, beauty and fitness institute VLCC has impressed us again and again with its unique range of skin care products. Whenever I have a big opportunity, my skin has always found solace in the amazing home face kits from VLCC.
I have never had a good relationship with the VLCC hair care range. But their skin care products like Lavang Moisturizer and Ayurveda Face Wash have secured their place in my favorites list. When I got to the Tulsi face wash, I bought it for a double offer.
I actually wanted to try the Orange Oil Face Wash. This Tulsi came along with the orange one. I’m always looking for a good gel-based facial cleanser for my acne-prone skin.
This VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash was specially developed for such skin types. Read along to see whether this facial cleansing can cause the cut or not.
About VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash
Enriched with Tulsi, VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash dissolves vitamin E pearls that help cleanse, exfoliate, eliminate and revitalize the skin.
Tulsi is a natural antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory phytoconstituent that helps maintain healthy skin. It’s also a potential source of natural antioxidants.
Vitamin E reduces dark spots, scars, wrinkles and fine lines and improves skin texture.
Packaging: VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash comes in a semi-opaque, semi-transparent plastic tube. The transparent hinged cap is leak-proof, but not as robust. The cap on my tube broke when it slipped out of my hand in the shower.
Most VLCC facial cleansers come in similar packaging. There isn’t much to share. The image of the basil leaves on the front gives the simple packaging a calming atmosphere.
On the back of the pack you will find the full list of ingredients as well as some information and instructions for use.
Color & Consistency: This face wash is a transparent gel of light green color. The paint is so minimal that it looks almost colorless if you pour it out in a small amount.
Its consistency is medium; neither thick like aloe vera gel nor liquid. The laundry has three types of cleaning beads. Most of these pearls will dissolve when you massage the laundry with a little water.
The largest pearls are light yellow, then there are medium-sized green pearls and the smallest pearls are as yellow as the larger ones.
Although all these pearls give facial cleansing a cool look, these cleansing granules are pretty much useless. Pearl-free facial cleansers perform exactly the same level of facial cleansing as this pearl cleanser.
Scent: This face wash has a unique herbal scent. It smells like wild herbs. There is also a hint of cool menthol scent. The smell is not overwhelming, but it is unusual.
The smell doesn’t last long. If you have a sensitive nose or don’t like such herbal fragrances, it would be good to stay away from them.
Quantity & Price: This face wash costs Rs.235 for 150ml. No smaller or larger packs are available for this wash. If you buy it as a pair, you get 30-40% discount on each product in the pair. If you buy it in individual packs, it can cost you anywhere from Rs.170-199.
My general thoughts
My oily to combination skin always gave me acne problems in the summer months. I don’t like foamy face washes as my skin secretes more and more oil.
Gel-based face washes suit me. I am very happy with this face wash fortified with tulsi or holy basil as it cleanses my skin without stretching it. I need a moisturizer after that, but not right away.
This facial cleanse has some good points and some bad points. I don’t like the way that smells and also the presence of parabens. On the other hand, I enjoy the instant freshness that it gives me.
This menthol-based wash provides a cooling feeling. VLCC Tulsi Acne Clear Face Wash does not prevent acne but does keep my skin oil free for 4-5 hours. Although this face wash is suitable for “all skin types”, people with oily skin will benefit greatly from it.
